Chowdary may get MoS berth

Hyderabad, Nov 8: Industrialist-turned-politician and TDP's Rajya Sabha member Yalamanchili Satyanarayana alias 'Sujana' Chowdary is to be inducted into Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government in the rank of a Minister of State during the cabinet expansion slated for Sunday. As per a suggestion from the Prime Minister's Office, TDP president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu named the 53-year-old Chowdary as their choice for an MoS post in the central cabinet. A key aide of the chief minister said that, on the Prime Minister's suggestion, a written communication from TDP was forwarded to the PMO regarding its clear choice of nominee for the cabinet berth. According to the aide, Modi only offered MoS rank to Chowdary. Chandrababu had to placate the sulking MP before forwarding his name as sought by the PMO. Chowdary is expected to leave for Delhi from Hyderabad Saturday evening. He is an industrialist with assets worth Rs. 189 crore. He is a post-graduate engineer and had set up Sujana industries in 1986.
