TS gets AIIMS: MPs

Hyderabad, Feb.9: Finally the Centre announced the allotment of AllIndia Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Telangana State.Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced this at Lok Sabha during the parliament session.

The decision came at a time when TRS MPs have boycotted the parliament in protest against the cancellation of appointment to an all-party delegation on SC categorisation led by Chief Minister by Prime MinisterNarendra Modi and also other issues pending as per AP Reorganisation Act.  

Also, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other ministers and TRS MPs pursued the issue to a logical end. Arun Jaitley announced AIIMS to Jharkhand and Gujrat during budget presentation causing discontent among the TRS MPs who decided to boycott the session. Finally, ArunJaitley announced AIIMS to Telangana State to much to the delight of people, TRS MPs Jithender Reddy and B Vinod Kumar said.

We achieved only after a fight with the Centre and will do so to meet other pending demands related to High Court Division, IIM and Tribal University and AP Bifurcation Act they said. They expressed concern for delay by theCentre in this regard and no improper allocation of IAS and IPS officials to the Telangana State.
