Indefinite strike by BSNL employees from Feb 3

New Delhi, Nov 6: Bharatiya Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) employees Thursday called for an indefinite nation-wide strike from February 3 next year to press their demand for proactive steps by the government in revitalising the limping telecom giant. BSNL Employees Union general secretary P. Abhimanyu said since 2007 roadblocks created by the central government had dragged BSNL to losses and allowed the private telecom companies to flourish. BSNL had posted a loss of Rs 7,933 crore on net sales of Rs 25,655 crore during FY13, the latest year for which the numbers are available.
