Suryapet,February 4; Varikuppala Nagamani, a resident of Dosapadu of Penphad, received Mahindra Agri’s best Woman Farmer Award, which would be given for achieving high crop yield by using latest technologies.

The Union Minister for Agriculture Rada Mohan Singh presented award to Nagamani at a programme in New Delhi recently. A memento and cash of Rs 2,11,000 was extended to her as a part of the award.

Nagamani felt happy for receiving the prestigious award in the agriculture sector. “I feel very happy, my achievement will inspire some of the farmers to adopt innovative methods and latest agri technologies in cultivation,” she maintained.
