Man dumps wife for giving birth to baby girl

Tirupati, Nov 6: Telugu Desam Party's local leader Govind Krishnaiah's son Hari Krishna is reported to have deserted his wife, Veena, for giving birth to a baby girl. Veena, who hails from Tirumala, got married to Hari Krishna at Bhavani Nagar in Tirupathi. Their conjugal relationship was good for the first three months. After three months of marriage, differences cropped up between her and her in-laws and husband, when they came to know through scanning that she was pregnant with a girl child. Her husband and in-laws asked Veena to go for an abortion. However, she did not succumb to their pressure and later gave birth to a baby girl. On coming to know of this, her husband deserted her. He even did not come to see the baby. Veena then took the help of women organisations and staged protest at her husband's house seeking justice.
