Bengali actress Swastika 'caught shoplifting'

Singapore, Nov 5: Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee finds herself in the midst of a controversy. She has been accused of shoplifting at a boutique in Singapore where she was attending a film festival along with her filmmaker-boyfriend, Suman Mukherjee. In May this year, Swastika was in news for allegedly attempting to commit suicide following a fight with her beau. She is reported to have shoplifted earrings worth US$225. The boutique owner, Apsara Oswal is said to have written to the Darpan Film Festival authorities stating that CCTV footage in her shop had indeed captured the theft. A single mother, Swastika is about to make her Bollywood debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Detective Byomkesh Bakshy.
