Manohar Parrikar Could Be Next Goa CM?!
New Delhi: General election for Goa is scheduled to be held on February 4th in a single phase to elect the 40 members. In view of anti incumbency ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to face the elections without announcing CM candidate.
How ever, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari hinted that defense minister Manohar Parrikar would be the next CM of Goa if the elected MLAs decided so.
Gadkari told "A leader in New Delhi could be made the Chief Minister of Goa if the party MLAs decide. It may not necessary that CM should be from the MLAs itself. We might send him from the Centre too".
In the last election BJP which fought under Parrikar leadership bagged 21 seats. As Parrikar nominated as Defence Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar was elected as CM.
Recently BJP announced names for 29 segments which includes 17 sitting names.
