AP CM Asks Energy Officials To “Meet & Greet” Farmers
Vijayawada: AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu has directed the Energy Department officials to conduct a “Meet & Greet” program for Agriculture consumers with a sole objective of enhancing interaction of power utilities with the farmers and to ascertain quality of power supply & complaint redressal mechanism, on the eve of “Sankranthi” the big festival of the State and ensuing Rabi Agriculture season.

“I am committed for the Welfare of the Farmers in the State. I strongly believe that a satisfied farmer is the lifeline of the State Economy. The Government is determined to improve the socio-economic conditions of the farmers through infrastructural, technological and financial support systems. State Govt. is extending around Rs 22,000 per Annum to each pumpset as subsidy for extending free power to the farming community. Apart from that, the State Govt. within a short time is commencing the unique scheme, first of its kind in the Country,  of distribution of Energy Efficiency Pumpset (EEPS) which costs around Rs 37,000 at free of cost to the Farmers. 

The pumpset comes with a benefit of 5 yrs warranty and my beloved farmer is eased of the burden of cost of maintenance of the pumpset for 5 Yrs. In the current financial by the end of March 2017 we are contemplating to replace two lakh pumpsets and eventually each and every farmer in the state will be benefited. No. State Govt. in the Country is spending this much on the welfare of the Farmer,” revealed Chief Minister in his open letter to the farmers which was released by Ajay Jain, Principal Secretary, Energy I&I,CRDA.
