President dissolves Delhi assembly
New Delhi, Nov 5: President of India Pranab Mukherjee Wednesday dissolved the Delhi Assembly on the recommendation of the union cabinet.
The president has signed the proclamation dissolving the Delhi Assembly, a Rashtrapati Bhawan spokesperson said.
The union cabinet recommended the dissolution of the Delhi assembly.
The decision was taken after the cabinet had ratified Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's recommendation to that effect.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor had earlier submitted his report to the President of India on the matter after after all three major political parties - AAP, BJP and Congress - had informed him that it was not possible to form a government under the present conditions.
