Kollywood Stars Rally Together For Jallikattu
Chennai: Today Supreme Court rejected a plea to allow Jallikattu(bull taming sport) ahead of harvest festival Pongal which will be held on Saturday.
SC bench comprising Justice R Banumathi & Justice Dipak Mishra said that nation can't import Roman Gladiator type sport, which is against the culture of compassion towards innocent animals.
As Pongal is just 4 days away Kollywood stars rallying together for revoking the ban on traditional bull fight Jallikattu.
Actor Dhanush lend his support to the sport and tweeted "#Jallikattu is an integral element of the voice and identity of Tamilians. #ISupportJallikattu #WeNeedJallikattu #TamilCulture".
Ilayathalapathy Vijay also supported the sport "#TNneedsJalliKattu2017 #SaveJallikattu WE NEED OUR JALIKATTU", he tweeted.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan also expressed his support for the #WeNeedJaillikattu campaign. He demanded to preserve the sport.
Legendary actor Kamal Haasan opined that unlike the Spanish bullfighting, in Tamilnadu's Jallikattu bulls are not injured as they are treated similar to gods.
