Congress Demands Relief To Land Losers As Per Central Act

Bhupalapally: The Congress leaders have demanded that the State government extend compensation to the land oustees as per the Land Acquisition Act 2013 of the Union government.

The Congress leaders staged dharna in front of the Mahadevpur Tahasildar office extending support to the land oustees here on Tuesday. Senior leaders T Jeevan Reddy, D Sridhar Babu and others participated in the agitation. Sridhar Babu demanded that the State government pay compensation to the farmers, who lost their land in projects, as per Land Acquisition Act-2013. He reminded that the then Congress government acquired land by convincing the farmers and alleged that the TRS government changed the name of Pranahitha-Chevella project by redesigning it. He said that the High Court’s dismissal of G.O. No.123 was a slap on the face of TRS government.
