Krishnam Raju, New Tamil Nadu Governor?!
Hyderabad: Speculations were aired that Veteran Telugu film actor and former Union Minister Krishnam Raju will be appointed as Tamil Nadu's New Governor.
At present Ch.Vidyasagar Rao is performing his duties as acting Governor of Tamil Nadu.
Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju born on Jan 20,1940 at Mogalthur, Madras Presidency. He was popularly known as 'Rebel Star' for his rebellious performances in Telugu movies. Debut with Chilaka Gorinka (1966) he acted in more than 183 films.
In late 1990s, he entered into active politics and joined BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party). He was elected from Kakinada and Narasapur constituencies in 12th(1998) and 13th(1999) Loksabha.
He also served as Union Minister from 2000-2002, holding portfolios like External Affairs, Defence & Consumer Affairs.
