AP CM Receives Rs.1981cr NABARD's Cheque For Polvaram

New Delhi: AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has received a cheque worth of Rs.1981cr from NABARD (The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) for the construction of Polavaram Project.

Union Minister for water resources Uma Bharti handed over the cheque to AP CM in presence of Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Venkiah Naidu etc.

This is the 1st installment of proposed loan to the multi-purpose mega Polavaram Project

Speaking to media Uma Bharati said that 1st time in Indian history NABARD is giving funds to irrigation projects.

Arun Jaitley assured more help for Andhra Pradesh development and told that Government of India is giving top priority to irrigation projects. AP CM thanked Union Government for extending their help in the construction of Polavaram.

Already, as a part of Special Package/Special Assistance to Andhra Pradesh Center declared that total expenditure of 'Polavaram' would be borne by GOI with effect from 1st April, 2014.

AP Reorganisation Act-2014 had already declared Polavaram Irrigation project on Godavari as a National Project.
