YCP MLA Uppuleti Kalpana Joins TDP
Amaravati: Today, YSRCP Pamarru MLA Uppuleti Kalpana joined into ruling TDP in presence of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, Pamarru TDP in-charge Varla Ramaiah also attended the event.

She dubbed her joining as 'Coming back to Swagruha.' Speaking to the gathering, Kalpana told that to ensure her constituency development only she joined TDP. Along with Kalpana, MPTCs, ZPTCs and Sarpanchs from YCP also joined TDP.

She admired AP CM Chandrababu's hard work in constructing Capital City Amaravati, Pattiseema, and Polavaram.

With Uppuleti Kalpana's defection, the total count of defected MLAs from YSRCP raised to 21. After few month gap, it seems ruling TDP resumed 'Operation Akarsh'

Kaplana represents Pamarru constituency of Krishna District. It is a SC reserved constituency. In 2009 general elections U.Kalpana contested on TDP ticket but defeated by Congress's Dovari Yesu Das with 6,940 votes margin.

In 2014 she shifted the strategy and contested on YSRCP ticket and registered success by defeating TDP's Varla Ramaiah with a thin margin of 1,069 votes.

Well placed sources suggest that Pamarru TDP in-charge Varla Ramaiah hardly opposed Kalpana's entry and conveyed his displeasure to Kala Venkat Rao.
