President pays homage to Sardar Patel

New Delhi, Oct 31 : President Pranab Mukherjee Friday paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the occasion of his 139th birth anniversary. Mukherjee paid floral tributes to Patel at Rashtrapati Bhavan. On the occasion, the president also flagged off the 'Run for Unity' from the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The run saw participation by around 2,000 residents and staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President's Bodyguard, the Army Guard, ITBP and the Delhi Police. Patel was born Oct 31, 1875.
