Gudiwada Municipal Chairman, 9 Councilors Join TDP

Vijayawada, Nov.6: In a setback to YSRC party, Gudiwada Municipal Chairman Yalavarti Srinivas Rao along with nine councilors joined the ruling TDP here. They joined TDP in the presence of party’s national president and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. According to political analysts, this political development indicates that the ruling party is trying to capture the Gudiwada municipal council in which YSRC has a strength of 20 members after the death of one of its councilor Ganapati Laxman Rao, while the TDP has 15 councilors. With nine councilors joining the ruling party, the TDP now has an edge to capture power in Gudiwada council. Though YSRC leader Kodali Nani tried his best to prevent party councilors from joining the TDP, all his efforts went in vain.
