TS TDP opposes redesign of projects: Pratap Reddy

TDP leader Onteru Pratap Reddy said on Wednesday his party was not against the irrigation projects as such but was opposed to redesigning them for monetary benefits of TRS leaders. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Onteru said the projects should be constructed between hills and other areas, which did not affect the people. But here KCR and Harish Rao were trying to inundate 12 villages for their selfish designs under the Mallannasagar, he alleged. “A project should be constructed on Gudleru rivulet (Vagu). If villagers were to be displaced, they should be given three times extra compensation of market value," the TDP leader demanded. The TRS government had no sincerity on the construction of irrigation projects and its leaders are giving priority just for commission sake, he alleged. His party would oppose the Mallannasagar project and the government was trying to waste Rs 10,000 crore public money on this project.
