Babu puts cyclone loss at Rs. 70K Cr

Visakha, Oct 15, 2014: CM Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that the property loss caused by the dreaded Hudhud cyclone could be around Rs. 70,000 Cr. Speaking to reporters at Collector's office in Visakhapatnam, he said originally officials have estimated the losses to be around Rs.60,000 Cr but the figure could go up to Rs.70,000 Cr. "We will arrive at a final figure on the property loss when we receive all the reports from revenue officials of the cyclone-battered places," he said, adding that central teams are expected to visit the cyclone hit areas tomorrow or day after for a final assessment.
