Waters to be impounded at Srisailam for supply to scarcity areas: CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said waters would be impounded at Srisailam for release to scarcity areas in the State. Opening a farmers' education centre in the Irrigation Projects Office in Vijayawada, he communicated with the irrigation officials through tele-conferencing and revealed many ideas. He said all the irrigation projects would be completed by December. Efforts would be made to release irrigation waters for the farmers. The State would be getting about 4000 to 5000 tmc of rainwater. Krishna-Godavari interlinking was completed. If the Godavari becomes full with rainwater, the water would be diverted to the Krishna. The inter-linking of the Krishna and the Penna would be beneficial for meeting the water scarcity, he added.
