Parl Standing council to discuss Telangana,AP projects

Hyderabad, May 27: In the wake of two Telugu states sparring over projects, allocation and usage of river waters, Parliamentary Standing Council is to make a visit to the City and discuss on the projects, allocation of waters and usage by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and try to settle the score in first week of June. The Centre is to seize the matter pertaining to the projects controversies on which the two Telugu States are at loggerheads and bring the issue to a logical end, according to information. Krishna River Water Management Board today held a crucial meeting here and discussed the issues related. Board officials stated that a Parliamentary Standing Council team is visiting Hyderabad on June 4 to take stock of the situation of the projects, allocation and usage of waters among two states. The Board will look into the issues pertaining to projects under Krishna, Godavari basins, maintenance of the projects, availability of waters and usage by both the states. When the irrigation officials of Andhra Pradesh tried to raise the issue of projects in Telangana citing them illegal, the Board officials refused to comment. We will not make any comment on the issue which is subjudice, they maintained. Since the matter is in court we will focus on the issue later, they said. Krishna River Board also said that it will send the details of its purview to the two states.
