Rutgers student Shani Patel shot dead, room-mate critical

Indian origin student, Shani Patel, studying in Rutgers University in Newark was killed and his room-mate, who is unidentified, lay critical in the university hospital in a shooting incident off the campus on Sunday night. Shani Patel was killed after 10 p.m. in an apartment building off the campus, said a spokeswoman of the Essex County Preosecutor office. The assailants were said to be in their 20s and one was shirtless at the time of shooting. The killers have been identified, but no arrests have been made. Rutgers is one of the prestigious universities in USA, and is located in New Jersey.
