NIA files NBWs against JeM Azhar, three Pak terrorists
The Indian National Investigation Agency secured non-bailable warrants against Jaishe-e-Muhammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar and three Pakistani terrorists and issued them on Monday for conspiring to carry out attack on the Pathanakot Airbase.
Apart from Azhar, the warrants were issued against his brother, Rauf, Kashif Jaan and Shaid Latif in connection with the Pathankot attack.
The NIA presented to the court details about the terrorists, their parents, personal details, addresses and telephonic conversations between the terrorists and their JEM handlers in Pakistan.
An Interpol red-corner notice is pending against Azhar already for being involved in the Parliament and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly attacks. Another Interpol red-corner notice is pending against Rauf in connection with IC-814 hijacking case of 1999.
Another neighbour China, siding with pakistan, last week stopped the UN Sanctions Committee from designating Azhar as terrorist, maintaining the case did not meet the requirements of the UN Security Council.
The UN had banned the JeM in 2001. But India's efforts to get Azhar declared terrorist had been blocked by China, the all-weather friend of China.
