New Zealand defeats Bangla by 75 runs

Bangladesh T20 team caved in for a paltry 70 all out in 15.4 overs in the last league match with toppers of the Group 2, New Zealand, on Saturday. New Zealand won by 75 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The match is not of much significance to either of the teams. New Zealand was already in the semis. Bangladesh was already out. Fielding three spinners, New Zealand gave the Bangla Tigers the run for their money and defeated the Mortaja team. Bangla Tigers failed to win a single match in the tournament. The second spot in the Group 2 is being fought fiercely by India and Australia. New Zealand is already through to semis like the West Indies from the other group. The second spot will be determined on Sunday after the Australia-India match. The Aussies are automatically in, going by their better run rate. But if India could beat Australia by a big margin, they will be in. First, they should beat the resurgent Australia at Mohali.
