HCU hots up with Kanhaiya being denied entry

The Hyderabad Centreal university affairs have hotted up with the resumption of duties by Vice-chancellor Apparao on Tuesday and Jawaharlal University Students Union president Kanhaiya Kumar coming to attend a meeting on Wednesday. In the running battles on the campus, the police and the students seemed to be chasing each other all over the campus in the shrubbery and all over. Leftist students went on the rampage on Tuesday, destroying furniture on the campus. The police and student skirmishes were continuing. Two professors and 28 students are stated to have been arrested in connection with incidents since yesterday. They were produced in the Miyapur court and later sent to Charlapalli jail. Tension was palpable in and outside the campus with the refusal of permission to JNU students union president Kanhaiya Kumar to enter the HCU. Vice-Chancellor Apparao has sent a circular barring the university for outsiders. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad students leader Gurazada has said Kanhaiya Kumar may make controversial speeches anywhere else, but he would not be allowed inside the campus. If he were to come, the ABVP would block him. The HCU is so vast that one can make an entry from some passage and make it appear dramatic. So more drama is likely to unfold on the HCU campus later on Wednesday.
