AP House to permit Roja if she apologises: Nothing doing, says Indira Jaisingh

The Andhra Pradesh government which went in appeal against the single-judge bench setting aside the RK Roja suspension from the State Assembly told the division bench on Monday that the governmnet would be willing to suspend her suspension if the YCP leader apologised for her intemperate remarks in the House. Seniour Counsel for the government PP Rao made the submission before the Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Dilip Bhosale. There was no question of Roja apologising to the House, her counsel Indira Jaisingh argued. Roja had done no wrong. The court adjourned the hearing to Tuesday. The Single-Judge bench headed by A. Ramalingeshwara Rao set aside the House Resolution suspending Roja for 1 year. He found many faults in connection with the resolution, including the Rule under which the suspension was made.
