It rained twice on Eden Gardens, T20 tie doubtful

There were rains twice on Saturday in Kolkata causing concern for the World Cup T20 organisers as well as cricket lovers all over the world whether the India-Pakistan match would go on later in the day. The first drizzle in the morning was itself threatening. The downpour at 4 p.m. may have put paid to the wishes of the cricket lovers. It's a do or die match for India, as they have lost the first tie miserably to New Zealand. Pakistan had won over Bangladesh in a big-scoring game and are sitting pretty for the present. In any case, both are in the tough group along with Australia and New Zealand. At the way India caved in to tame Kiwis' bowling, India's preparedness, for all their claims, is doubtful. Ashish Nehra's bowling full tosses in the dead overs suggests they have no new weapon such as yorkers to employ to save face. Even if India manages to beat Pakistan, it would have a tough time with the other teams. In any case, first the weather itself might stall the match. Eden Gardens has no great drainage system either. Covers all over the ground hold out some hope.
