OU students rally for jobs turns violent, policemen injured

Osmania University students on Friday took out a rally, Chalo Assembly, demanding jobs and turned violent when they were stopped at the NCC gate. As the police prevented them at the gate, they indulged in stone-throwing, injuring some policemen. The students plan was to storm the State Assembly. They were stopped even before they crossed the university limits at the NCC Gate. Stone-throiwng followed. The police pressed in additional units. Some of the students were arrested. Telangana students give a lot of importance to state government jobs. The State government was however issuing notifications for jobs, but no recruitment was going on, the students and others alleged. `Chalo Assmbly' is an old practice during the Telangana agitation. While the statehood was achieved, the promised jobs were not coming by. Hence the students are agitated.
