ED tells Vijay Mallya to show up on March 18

While the BJP and the Congress were indulging in mutual recriminations on Vijay Mallya, the Enforcement Directorate put its foot down on Friday and sent summons to the King of Good Times, directing him to appear before it on March 18. Chief financial officer of Kingfisher airlines A. Raghunathan appeared before the ED this morning, when he was asked about the transactions of the airlines. The ED also sent summonses to 10 officials of the IDBI to appear before it along with their IT returns for the past 5 years. Meanwhile, Vijay Mallya tweeted that he is not an absconder and that he will comply with the laws of the land. "I am an international businessman and I travel to and from India frequently. I did not flee from India, and neither i am an absconder,' he added.
