Vijay Mallya affidavit as Elder shows `zero' property, `nil' bank loans

`King of Good Times' Vijay Mallya had bluffed in the affidavit filed for his re-election to the Rajya Sabha that he had zero property and `nil' loans from banks or financial institutions. What then is the hullabaloo all about? The elders should see the affidavit and discuss it rather than March 2 escape, because the affidavit in question led to Vijay Mallya's giving the slip. He flew away to London, regardless of whether the CBI knew about it or not, within the rules of the Rajya Sabha. The Rajya Sabha Rules say that a member inform the House about an absence of 10 sittings. He had attended the House on March 1. If so, the BJP had accused the Congress of being in power at that time and facilitating Mallya to apportion thousands of crores as loans from the monies pooled in by the public for his defunct Kingfisher airlines. Vijay Mallya had dame luck with him. He had properties all over the world, including five-acre Ladywalk in rural England, not far from London. The affidavit does not mention either Ladywalk or any other property. It only mentions a Ferrari bought in 2000 for Rs.25 lakh. Vijay Mallya had won the second Rajya Sabha term with the help of the Janata Dal United and the BJP, both parties that had strong presence in Karnataka. Supreme Court senior advocate Prashant Bhusahan says Mallya maybe right after all that he had zero personal debt. Whatever debts were there belonged to his companies, some of which were defunct. Vijay Mallya knew the ides of March were coming and got away, leaving the credulous leaders and people behind.
