Congress suddenly realises AP got mere mud: KVP plans sand satyagraha

The Congress has now realised that Andhra Pradesh has not received anything from the Centre after the party cut the gordion knot of the combined State in 2014. Realising the truth, Congress senior leader KVP Ramachandra Rao, Rajya Sabha MP, on Thursday said he would now demand Special Status for Andhra Pradesh through Sand satyagraha in New Delhi. Talking to newsmen, KVP recalled when Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundtion for the AP capital Amaravati he had taken little mud and a small pail of water from Delhi. The same amount of sand and water from AP would be returned to the Centre, he added. Hence his agitation was Sand Satyagraha. The Congress leader said in the Sand Satyagraha, party president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, vice-president, and other party leaders would be participating. For a comeback of the party in AP, the Congress has to do much more than satyagraha. They should take up the matter in Parliament and ensure the Special Status under special circumstances is passed.
