Governor seeks resolution of promises made in AP Reorganisation Bill

Addressing the opening session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Saturday afternoon, governor ESL Narasimhan admitted problems arising out of the split of the combined AP. The promises made in the AP Reoganisation Bill, however, were not being conceded by the Central government. Even so, the AP government was resolved to achieve the growth rate of double digit despite the lack of cooperation. Under the `Mee Intiki Mee Bhumi' 72 lakhs pattas have been issued to the people for regularising their dwellings. The government is resolved to providing quotas to Kapu, Balija and Telaga communities. The Justice Manjunath committee would give its report within 8 months. The Kapu corporation would be provided with Rs 1000 crore. The Scheduled Castes, STs and BCs would be given funds according to the plans made. The removal of indebtedness had already touched Rs 7433 crore in the State. A sum of Rs 24500 crore would be allotted for the loan waiver for farmers. With the payment of Rs 150, all people would be provided with telephone and internet facility in the State.
