Ten more YCP MLAs don't attend Jagan meeting

While six MLAs have left the YCP so far, another ten did not attend the party legislators meeting called by the party chief, Jaganmohan Reddy, to discuss the strategy in view of the State Assembly session. With this the speculation that there were more defectors in waiting from the party has gained credence. The ten are understood to have given personal reasons for not attending the YCP MLAs meeting. But it is known that the ruling TDP had claimed that some 30 MLAs were in waiting for jumping to their party. Although its a setback for the party, Jagan is stated to have already taken steps for the alternatives in the constitutencies of the defectors. That will be necessary only if the incumbent MLAs resign and join the TDP. If it happens, like in Telangana, that the MLAs defect to the ruling party but do not resign, or if the Speaker of the assembly does not recognise the defection by sitting over it, there is no question of a byelection. For his party's sake, Jagan could nominate someone in the constituencies of the defectors.
