Sanjay Dutt atones for weapons crime & salutes Tricolour: Will treason accused follow?
The actor in Sanjay Dutt displayed his inborn histrionics as he was released from the Yerawada jail, 2 hours earlier than scheduled owing to security reasons, on Thursday. Sanjay Dutt came out and kissed the ground of freedom, rose up and saluted the Tricolour fluttering in the breeze. He came out with a shoulder bag and a hand full of files. He put them down and went through the histrionics. There were already Sanjay Dutt fans, whom he did not forget to greet. He told them that it was because of their support that he was a free man. Producer Rajkumar Hirani was there, as always, for him to accompany him to the airport and back to Bollywood. The gesture of kissing the ground and saluting the Tricolour would be a lesson to the treason mongers who are getting away by quoting an esoteric intolerance narrative. The intolerance narrative of the treason mongers is fully supported by the Opposition Congress and the CPIM and the CPI. The Opposition narrative is summed up by Sitaram Yechury, CPIM general secretary, who shows a placard reading: `STOP ATTACK ON DEMOCRATIC AND CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE.' He is referring to a bunch of JNU students being charged with sedition. Who are the people here. Those who live off the state, enjoy hijinks at night and spew sedition by day? What about the common man holding the aadhar card as a lifeline to a decent living and running from pillar to post? What about him and what about his democratic and constitutional rights? Why shift the focus from the common man to the danger man such as Yakub Memon and Afzal Guru who tried only to bring death to the common man? Sanjay Dutt had hoarded weapons as a young man, but he atoned for his crime. Will the treason accused also atone for creating a frenzy and atone for it?
