Treason accused JNU Kanhaiya Kumar gets full police cover

Jawaharalal Nehru Students Union president Kanhaiya Kumar, facing charges of treason, has been assured of full protection by the Delhi High Court on Wednesday. The court had ordered the Delhi police to give the student facing treason charges full protection so that he is not even slapped in the public domain. The court adjourned the case to February 29 for further hearing. Earlier, the student facing treason had urged the court full protection, citing that he was twice beaten by the people at the Patiala House court, where not even his lawyers were spared by the people. At this, the court assured the treason accused full protection. There would be no danger to his limb or life. Meanwhile, the police are seeking to file a fresh remand application as more JNU students, charged with sedition, are expected to surrender to the police.
