KCR stoops to BJP to conquer AP

Political circles in Delhi are speculating whether the ruling Telangana Rashtra Simiti is about to join the Central Cabinet for the benefit of the State. The speculation became rife with Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya openly raising the question whether the TRS was joining the Cabinet, obviously without his knowledge. Recently when he visited Delhi, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao did the smart thing by making Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma sit in the reception, while he went in and had a one-to-one meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Neither Modi nor KCR revelaed what the talks were about. It now emerges that KCR is trying to get his party entry into the Central Cabinet, obviously showing the benefits out of such a tie-up for both. It won't be a contradiction because the BJP was allies with the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh and would be ally with the ruling TRS in Telangana. Both ways, they would keep the Congress out of the way. Not only that, there is flip side to a tie-up with the BJP. Telangana is opposed to Special Status for Andhra Pradesh along with all the neighbours. The TRS can make a firmer case by being in the loop. Dattatreya said if the matter were true, then it was for either Modi or KCR to come out on strengthening the Central Cabinet. KCR is adept in taking the Central parties for a ride for the beneift of Telangana and TRS. He made the Congress nowhere in Telangana in the last elections, promising merger with it before the poll.
