Jagan to raise Kapu stir cases against YCP with Central leaders

Jaganmohan Reddy, YCP leader's sudden visit to Delhi to meet the Central leadership on issues facing Andhra Pradesh on Monday morning has taken political circles by surprise. Jagan was expected to meet shortly President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, among others. During the unscheduled visit, the YCP leader was expected to raise Special Status for AP, special allocations in the coming budgets and so on. At the other end, the violence in the recent Kapu agitation in Tuni was attributed to the Jagan partymen. So he was expected to raise the issue of withdrawal of cases against his partymen. Jagan is very likely to contrast the Kapu agitation with that of the Jat stir in Haryana. As for the Jats, the Haryana government and the Centre immediately conceded the demand of the Jats that they be included in the Other Backward Classes. In comparison, the AP government had filed cases against his partymen, while leaving the issue of Kapu reservation to the Manjunatha committee. The YCP leader, with his clout in Delhi, was expected to give his thoughts to the Central leaders.
