YCP protests against CM's remarks as anti-Dalit

The opposition YCP on Saturday started State-wide protests against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's remarks on Dalits by anointing Dr BR Ambedkar's statues with milk in all towns in Andhra Pradesh. The call for `Palabhishekam' (pouring milk) on the Ambedkar statues was given by the YCP leadership. The agitation hit the normal life in many towns with rasta-rokos and gatherings at Ambedkar statues. At Kamalapuran YCP MLA Ravindranath Reddy performed the task of anointing the Ambedkar statue with milk, at Yeleshwaram Parupula Subbarao, Amjad Basha in Cuddapah, Akepati Amarnatha Reddy at Rajampeta, Jairamulu at Porumamilla and Akula Veraraju in Rajahmundry. The YCP agitation is strong in Rayalaseema and at a few places on the coast.
