Kanhaiya lands in Afzal Guru's cell No 3 Tihar

Jawaharlal Nehru students union president Kanhaiya Kumar has been lodged in the cell of a condemned prisoner Afzal Guru whose eulogy is being done by left-oriented Indian intelligentsia, including research scholars of Central universities, and the Congress. In a telling reversal of events, Kanhaiya has been lodged in the cell not for condemning him like Afzal Guru, who was responsible for masterminding the Pakistan-based terrorist attack on Parliament, among other anti-India activities. The assignment of the Cell 3 in Tihar jail is to prevent a suicide by Kanhaiya Kumar. There were reports that the Bihari boy in the Tihar jail had made a confession to the police on the JNU happenings, denying he had raised anti-India slogans. The cell for the condemned in Tihar Jail ensures round-the-clock surveillance by some 50 policemen. Kanhaiya was taken to Tihar on Wednesday night following the court directive that he be given complete police protection.
