Chandrababu dilly-dallies on temporary Secretariat

Laying the foundation stone for the temporary Secretariat at Velagapudi in Guntur distrcit on Wednesday morning amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the buildings coming up in capital Amaravati would continue to awe the coming generations. Continuing the contradiction whether the Velagapudi construction would be a for a permanent Secretariat, the Chief Minsiter said although it was a temporary Secretariat it would have all the trappings of a permanent one. Chandrababu said it was with an idea of shifting the Secretariat from Hyderabad and ruling from the region that the construction was being taken up. He further said the constructions coming up in the new Capital Amaravati would last long, really long. The building would be such that even the future generations would behold them in awe. The Secretariat building would be the first in the complexes coming up in the area. Therefore, he requested all leaders to co-operate in the construction. Like with everything, there are contradictions in the Capital formation in AP. First, it was saId to be the Ongole area that would be the capital. Then there was a sudden shift to Guntur-Krishna, where the real estate was already usurped. Even the Chief Minister dilly-dallied between temporary and permanent Secretariat. His Ministers, however, said that the Secretariat would be a permanent one. What is the hesitation to say it would be a permanent Secretariat by all with one voice eludes a clear answer. Does the Chief Minister still nurse a soft corner for Hyderabad? The government cannot afford to keep the people who have been thrice beaten so far as the capital is concerned, and still wish to continue the shy contradiction. Capital construction involves lakhs of crores, and these funds should be seen strictly as people's assets.
