Pakistani claims Kohinoor
Kohinoor diamond is going places, back and forth between India and different rulers. Now it is with the British crown.
Pakistan has thrown its hat into the ring seeking Kohinoor from the British crown on the ground that Britain had rejected India's case for the diamond.
Javed Iqbal, a lawyer in the Lahore High Court, has filed a petition with the high court, stating that Pakistan must get Kohinoor because it belonged to the country. He argued that Britain has refused to give the diamond back to India.
The court considered the matter and asked the petitioner under which law should the diamond be brought back to Pakistan. He was given two weeks time to prepare his case for Pakistan.
The matter was adjourned for hearing on February 25.
Would you believe it, Kohinoor was originally Syamantakamani of Satrajit-Satyabhama-Krishna fame?
