Babu demands AP split benefits from Centre

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to implement the decisions included in the AP Reorganisation Bill that split the combined AP State. He conveyed to the Prime Minister the State's needs to increase revenues and Central aid required in this regard. Earlier, Chandrababu met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and urged him for programmes to cover the revenue deficit faced by the State. Backward districts in the State should be given special grants. The Chief Minister urged the Finance Minister for incentives for setting up industries as in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand States. The Chief Minister specially urged the Central leaders for the promised Special Status to AP, as in the AP Reorganisation Bill. He also discussed other financial matters with the Finance Minister.
