Revant alleges pressure on defectors

Ever since it came to power, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti has been indulging in encouraging defections from other parties to it by blackmail, TDP State working president Revant Reddy has alleged. Listing the browbeating by TRS, Revant said on Tuesday that Madhavaram Krishnarao was implicated in a land dispute case; Dharmareddy was induced by contracts; and pressure was brought on Teegala Krishna Reddy in the case of his college. All these leaders were encouraged to defect by pressure or inducement. The TDP leader warned that at this rate of encoruaging defections, a time might come when there might be problems in KCR's household itself. He predicted that the defections itself would be the end of TRS rule. Revant's diatribe apart, all the opposition parties in Telangana have made the defections a big issue, but they have not been able to do anything in the matter. Their complaints to the Speaker and the Governor have not yielded results. On the other hand, the TRS trying to prove that defections are no issue in case of Sanatnagar assembly byelection as the ruling party had commanding majority in the whole of Hyderabad. Even so, the result in Sanantnagar would be of interest as to where the TDP stands.
