Chiranjeevi, Raghuveera detained at airport

Megastar Chiranjeevi, a Kapu, and APCC president, Raghuveera Reddy, were detained at Rajamahendravaram airport as they arrived Monday morning to meet the fasting Kapu supremo, Mudragada Padmanabham. The Congress leader duo were detained at airport police station, it is learnt. They were proceeding to Kirlampudi to support Padmanabham's agiation for the reservation of the Kapus among the Backward Classes. Because of the Megastar, crowds of Congreess supporters demonstrated at the police station, demanding that they be released immediately. The police, however, prevented the duo from proceeding owing to the fear that it might cause further incidents in the Tuni area, including Kirlampudi. There was considerable tension in Rajamahendravaram itself. The Megastar is a supporter of the Kapu cause and the APCC chief would like to get mileage for his party whose fortunes have sunk since the Congress-engendered split of the combined AP.
