Adilabad students demand Girijan varsity

Students demanding a Girijan university in Adilabad district on Saturday held a big demonstration. After the demonstration, the students proceeded to the house of TRS MP Nagesh in a bid to raid it. As they reached the house, the students raised slogans. They threw rotten eggs over his house in support of their demand. This caused some tension in the area. The police have reached the spot and are trying to disperse the students peacefully. If the university demand is conceded by all the concerned, it would meet the educational needs of the Girijans who span Adilabad and Khammam. Bastar in Chattisgarh and Chanda in Maharashtra also have Gond population. The tribal people of these areas are commonly called Gonds and Koyas.
