TRS heads for absolute majority in GHMC poll

Even before the TRS-BJP combine made its opening success, the ruling TRS was achieving absolute majority in the counting of votes, which was in progress, in the Greeater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections on Friday evening. The friendly party of the TRS, the AIMIM, won 13 seats and was leading in another eight by 5.30 pm on Friday. The Congress was the only the other party that won one seat to its credit. The TDP-BJP combine were heading for a blank with not one seat being won by them. Besides, their leading seats were also being won over by the TRS as the counting reached the end.
