UK to set up Health Institute in Amaravati

The United Kingdom has expressed an interest in setting up a health institute in Amaravati at a cost of Rs.1,000 crore. It will be named Indo-UK Institute of Health Sciences. British representatives met Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in this connection in Visakhapatnam on Friday morning. Making a proposal in this regard, the representatives urged the Chief Minister for an allocation of 100 acres for the purpose of setting up the institute. The Chief Minister is expected to act positively in the matter. The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences has already decided to set up an AIIMS institution in the Amaravati area. The stone has already been laid for the project.
