Akbaruddin vows to lift the Congress coffin with Modi

In contrast to his brother Asaduddin, AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi makes sensational comments that often go viral and create problems for all. In the run-up to the Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation elections, Akbaruddin said at Babanagar on January 30 that the MIM would not mind joining hands with his party's bete noire, the BJP, to destroy the Congress party. His party would align with the Narendra Modi government to drive the Congress out of the country. Apart from the Congress party as a whole, its top leadership, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, too, were the butt of his criticism. Akbar said Indira Gandhi had walked into Darusssalam (MIM headquarters). "We would never go to Gandhi Bhavan (Congress headquarters in Telangana). But we would make Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi lick the doorstep of Darussalam," he added. Continuing his tirade on the Congress, he said: "We shall chase the Congress in the entire countrty. We shall destroy the Congress by aligning with Narendra Modi, and I shall lift the coffin of the Congress along with Modi." The video has gone viral rather late. Had it come out sooner, the Congress would have suffered terribly in the GHMC poll. It is now making the rounds in social media. Why is Akbaruddin attacking the Congress? While the reasons are not known, the immediate reason appears to be one MIM leader joining the Congress and contesting the GHMC poll. The defection made the MIM so bitter that two top PCC leaders, Uttamkumar Reddy and Md. Shabbir Ali, were singled out for attack at Puranapul, injuring the latter seriously in the eye. The Congress lost support of the entire AP for thoughtless splitting of the combined State in a mighty hurry, and even the last bastion of Hyderabad was also forfeited by earning the wrath of the MIM.
