No ready answers on Kapu quota: Justice Manjunath
Justice Manjunath said on Thursday that he had no ready-made answer to the question how he could provide for reservations to the Kapus without endangering the chances of the Backward Classes.
Justice Manjunath was talking to newsmen after meeting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who was understood to have asked the Commission Chairman to speed up the submission of the report.
Justice Manjunath clarified that he was yet to begin the work because right now he was the one-man commission. There were three vacancies of members in the commission which must be filled before the work could begin in earnest.
However, the Commission made it clear that both the arguments for the reservation of Kapus and arguments against the reservations for the community would be listened to before finalising the report.
The Commission had a tenure of 9 months, and he would try to submit the report as early as possible.
