Probe ordered into caste row at IIMC

The Indian Institute of Mass Communications has joined the Hyderabad Central University in the alleged intolerance towards the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The Institute has ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the tweets on social media regarding the issue. Some casteist comments are said to have been aired around the IIMC. Unlike the HCU authorities that have bided for time to solve the issues, the IIMC acted fast by ordering an inquiry. The Rohith Vemula issue at the HCU has not yet died down despite the students resuming classes. The court is going into the matter. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad that has been at the centre of the issue has dropped its defensive posture and is going on the offensive, stating that Rohith was not a Dalit at all. By saying so, they perhaps mean that issues should be seen in the right perspective and not be weighed by extraneous considerations.
