Ratnachal burning hits Kapus the most
The Kapu Unity `Roar' may have made a point about the inclusion of the community in the Backward Classes list, but it has certainly affected the office goers and people depending on earning their daily bread by honest means.
The `roar' resulted in the large-scale arson and violence, including the burning down of Ratnachal Express that happened to be passing by at Tuni on that fateful Sunday. Had it been some other Express other than the train between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, it would have been a disaster because the arsonists defied and attacked the police and set fire to the entire train.
The day train of Ratnachal Express was specially meant for office goers and those working in nearby outstations all along the route between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
The railways are refusing to replace the bogies on the ground that train carriages were not available. As a result, the people who mainly depended on the train for their daily bread have now to seek other means of transport, which do not reach them to their destinations in time for work.
As it is well known, the railways rake in profits from the division, but raise their hands up when it comes to doing anything for the Andhras, or, for that matter, Telangana.
The Vijayawada Raiway Divisional Manager, Ashok Kumar, says he has written for a replacement of the bogies. When should it reach the Raiway Ministry, and when should Railway Minister accept the proposal and when will Ratnachal Express run again?
Considering half the population are the Backward Classes, they are obviously the hard hit by the arson on the railways.
